American Legion Posts to help area veterans

Kent Reporter - 3/10/2018

National and state teams along with local post members from the American Legion will be in Kent to discuss veterans' benefits and services while kicking off their community and veteran service campaign.

Military veterans in the region are invited for a special service session at the Kent American Legion Post 15, 25405 97th Place S., Ken t. Membership and veteran information staff will be available on Friday, March 23, from noon to 6 p.m., Saturday, March 24, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, March 25, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

All veterans in the area are invited to Post 15 to learn more about the American Legion and veteran benefits.

A veteran service officer will be available to assist area veterans with claims or other veteran benefit related questions during these times.

In keeping with the nearly 100-years of tradition of the American Legion, posts in the area will focus on community service and assistance to veterans. The scope and nature of the posts' community service is determined by its members and with input from local civic and community officials.

Since its inception in 1919, the American Legion has been a key advocate for veterans' benefits, patriotic American values, instilling values in young people through numerous programs and a strong national defense with focus on quality-of-life issues for those serving in today's armed forces.
